Kristen Ketchel-Bain joined BEH in 2010, and learned municipal and land use law under the mentorship of founding partner Pam Beery. Kristen is now the land use paralegal for the firm, supporting the land use team in all matters, from the first local decision up through drafting and litigation at LUBA, the Oregon Court of Appeals, and the Oregon Supreme Court.  She also assists Josh Soper in his capacity as Land Use Hearings Officer. As a self-described “land use nerd,” Kristen makes it a priority to stay current on legal and legislative developments in land use and planning at both local and state levels. She also supports the Public Contracting Team.

Prior to joining the team at BEH, Kristen worked in probate & estate planning and personal injury, and spent a memorable year tutoring student athletes at the University of Oklahoma.

Kristen is devoted to her sweet wrecking ball of a dog, Vivian, and her notoriously naughty kitty, Robin. When not tending to her furry family, she is pecking away at a novel that will surely, someday, be finished.
